Debut Award Reflects Made in USA Excellence in Product Design, Quality and Innovation

PORTERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA, June 4, 2013 – Adams Manufacturing, a western Pennsylvania-based “Made in USA” supplier of exceptional-quality residential and commercial outdoor resin furniture and accessories, announced today that it is the first-ever recipient of the National Hardware Show® All-American Award for Best Marketing. The National Hardware Show is widely considered to be the world’s premier event geared to the home improvement marketplace.

The award ceremony took place on May 8th, 2013 in the Made in USA product display pavilion at the 2013 National Hardware Show® in Las Vegas, NV. Marcie Gabor, President, Made in USA Brand; Principal, Conrad Phillips Vutech, presented the awards alongside John Lederer, Representative, National Hardware Show.

Adams Manufacturing used the 2013 National Hardware Show® as an opportunity to promote its newest “high-dining” line, which included both counter and bar-height barstools along with two different sizes of café-inspired bistro tables. Adams’ RealComfort® Barstools incorporate a groundbreaking “patent-pending” hard-seat design that is ergonomically engineered to relieve pressure on both the iliac and coccyx bones. As a result, overall seating comfort is substantially enhanced.

“With approximately 2,500 exhibitors and 85,000 attendees at the show, we knew that we needed to go above and beyond in our marketing in order to break through the clutter and really get noticed,” stated Director of Marketing Dan Stainer. “Trade shows like this are a significant investment and every company is vying for the attention of the buyer – which is why marketing needs to play an even larger role in helping to parlay these sort of investments into new business,” he said.

As a means of generating pre-show buzz, Adams Manufacturing utilized a wide range of integrated marketing tactics, including targeted email blasts, custom invitations and advertising. During the show, Adams hired two historical celebrity impersonators—Uncle Sam and President Abraham Lincoln.

While Uncle Sam walked the show floor handing out booth invitations, Honest Abe was featured at the booth as part of a makeshift Lincoln Memorial — which consisted of a white Adirondack chair on a raised podium, along with fluted columns and a sign that read: “Not all resin furniture is created equal.”  Show advertising and booth signage further reinforced Adams’ Made in USA theme.
